Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information.
Last updated: June 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how runevr ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and platform (the "Service"). We aim to collect only what we need to run the Service well and to be clear about how we use it.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — name, email address, password, and profile details.
- Content — files, messages, recordings, boards, comments, and other materials you create or upload.
- Communications — messages you send us for support or feedback, and waitlist/early-access sign-ups.
- Payment information — handled by our payment processor (see below); we don't store full card details.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — how you interact with the Service (features used, actions taken, session activity).
- Device & log data — IP address, browser/device type, and timestamps, used for security and reliability.
- Cookies & analytics — see the Cookies section below.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- To authenticate you and keep your account and content safe.
- To process subscriptions and payments (through our payment processor).
- To send service-related messages (e.g. confirmations, security alerts, and important updates).
- To respond to support requests and feedback.
- To understand usage and improve features (using privacy-respecting analytics where possible).
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. Cookies & analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies. Strictly necessary cookies (for example, to keep you signed in) are always on. Analytics cookies are loaded only after you consent via our cookie banner. We currently use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site and product are used; you can decline these at any time. Your consent choice is stored on your device.
4. Service providers & processors
We share data with trusted providers who process it on our behalf, only as needed to run the Service:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Paddle | Payment processing & Merchant of Record (billing, invoicing, tax) |
| Amazon Web Services (AWS) | Cloud hosting, databases, and file storage |
| SMTP2GO | Transactional email delivery (confirmations, notifications) |
| LiveKit | Real-time audio/video calls |
| Google Analytics & Microsoft Clarity | Consent-based usage analytics |
| AI model providers | Powering AI-assisted features (processing the inputs you provide) |
These providers are bound to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify. Our
blog and content pages are served by our content platform on a shared runevr.com domain.
5. Payments
Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Paddle collects and processes your payment and billing information under its own privacy policy. We receive limited transaction data (such as plan, status, and country) to manage your subscription, but we do not store your full payment-card details.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete content or close your account, we delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Backups are retained for a limited time and then purged.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise many of these directly in the app, or contact us at privacy@runevr.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
8. Data transfers
We and our providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect your data when it's transferred internationally.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your data and respond to incidents.
10. Children
The Service isn't directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We'll post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
